Dr. Anna Krause

Who are you?

I’m Dr. Anna Baumgartner Krause — but most people just call me Dr. Anna.

Where did your journey begin?

I grew up in Iron River, Michigan, and completed my education at Ferris State University and the Michigan College of Optometry.

Why optometry?

I decided at seven years old, after dissecting cow eyes in second grade, that this was what I wanted to do. I never changed my mind.

What matters most to you in your work?

Improving vision in ways that genuinely improve quality of life — and doing it with authenticity and ethics at the center.

What are you into right now?

Audiobooks, hiking, baking, sewing, traveling, and finding waterfalls whenever possible.
Also: vanilla chai with a raspberry scone.

Any strong opinions?

Tea is better than coffee. Fruit and chocolate don’t belong together… and artificial tears are not the solution to dry eye.
